Apollo Tyres expands award-winning Vredestein Ultrac summer tyre range

18 new size options – latest range now spans 15 to 18 inches; new acclaim for Ultrac in Auto Zeitung 2022 summer tyre test

Apollo Tyres is expanding its range of award-winning Vredestein Ultrac summer tyres, adding 18 new options from 17 to 18 inches. The Ultrac portfolio now encompasses 63 different dimension options, from 15 to 18 inches.

Coinciding with these new arrivals, the premium Ultrac tyre has collected another accolade from a leading independent automotive publication, this time from German motoring magazine, Auto Zeitung, which conducted a group test of leading summer tyres.

The Ultrac delivers best-in-class performance in both wet and dry conditions, making it an ideal ‘summer’ tyre option for a wide selection of family and compact cars. Developed by the Apollo Tyres global R&D centre in Enschede in the Netherlands, the Ultrac range delivers high levels of comfort, as well as impressive handling and cornering even at high speeds. This is facilitated by an enhanced tyre cavity with a squarer footprint, stiffer tread pattern and centre rib with parabolic lateral grooves. The tyre also enhances steering response and precision for a safe and dynamic driving experience and offers impressive rolling resistance and fuel efficiency.

Another award-winning year for Ultrac

The expansion of the Ultrac range follows further independent recognition of the tyre’s class-leading capabilities. Prominent German motoring magazine, Auto Zeitung, placed the Ultrac second in its 2022 summer tyre group test, published this month. Auto Zeitung evaluated tyres from 10 different manufacturers, conducting a wide range of tests including aquaplaning behaviour, wet breaking performance and rolling resistance. The publication labelled the Ultrac as a ‘Very Recommended’ tyre for use in a number of conditions, in particular regions with unpredictable weather. Auto Zeitung noted: “…the new Ultrac has the highest aquaplaning reserves and is extremely easy to handle.”

Daniele Lorenzetti, Chief Technology Officer at Apollo Tyres, said: “Strong and sustained demand for the Ultrac range since it was launched early in 2021 prompted us to develop these new variants of the product for larger wheels, improving availability of the product for a wider range of vehicles. Thanks to our R&D engineers, the tyre delivers superior standards of handling, comfort and noise reduction in the highly competitive summer tyre market.”

Of the Auto Zeitung test, he added: “We are always proud and pleased whenever an independent publication highlights the performance of our products. To receive recognition from a magazine as prestigious as Auto Zeitung speaks volumes for the Ultrac and the team behind it.”
