  • Manufactured in Europe and designed for Regional application
  • Snow Grip (3PMSF) rated; rolling resistance reduced, and mileage and durability improved over the previous generation
  • Apollo Tyres has also launched second generation of its regional drive tyre, the Apollo 315/80 R22.5 Endu™Race RD2 – “tier-one performance and class-best value for money”

Apollo Tyres Europe has launched its all-new, next-generation truck trailer tyre: the new EnduRace RT2. Building on the success of its popular predecessor, Apollo’s new ‘Regional Trailer tyre’ provides excellent all-weather performance, reduced rolling resistance, and enhanced mileage and durability, representing a premium yet affordable solution for truck operators.

The second generation of the EnduRace RT, the new Apollo Tyres EnduRace RT2 is produced in Europe and is designed for Regional application – suitable for medium- and long-distance transport. Although optimised to deliver outstanding grip in wet and winter conditions, it performs well across all seasons and is certified for snow grip with the ‘three peak mountain and snowflake’ mark. Grip overall is 15% better compared to the previous generation.

The EnduRace RT 2 also has premium mileage performance with enhanced durability and reduced rolling resistance, in part thanks to an improved tread compound that helps minimise abrasion and heat build-up. The durable and optimised ply casing means the tyre also has enhanced retreadability – an important requirement for many fleet operators.

Even wear across the tread pattern is achieved thanks to a wider contact area, affording uniform pressure distribution, again assisting with durability and rolling resistance. The reinforced casing contributes to the improved durability – 1.7 times greater than the European regulatory requirement – and enhanced tear resistance.

“This is an extremely competitive segment in the European truck tyre market, and we have committed significant resources and expertise in research and development to ensure the new EnduRace RT2 meets the needs of the most demanding user,” Comments John Nikhil Joy, Cluster Director Europe – Truck & Bus tyres at Apollo Tyres.

Also being added to the Apollo truck tyre offering is the new Apollo 315/80 R22.5 Endu™Race RD2 truck tyre. The new ‘regional drive’ tyre is equipped with unique new groove tread pattern incorporating ‘HGTech’ Hidden Groove Technology with Multi-Edge shoulder blocks – allows for superior snow grip and optimised performance on slippery surfaces.

The new truck tyre’s snow grip is 1.4 times greater the European regulatory standard requirement and is marked with the three peak mountain and snowflake. The pattern life and traction extension will guarantee the best performance on the regional drive tyre axle with superior traction for trucks, important to truck operators.

John adds, “We know how big an impact tyres can have in fleet operating costs. While we have made significant improvements to grip and traction in all conditions with the Endu™Race RD2 tyre, we have also focused on durability and rolling resistance – and, of course, we understand the importance of affordability. The Endu™Race RT 2 and RD2 offer tier-one performance and class-best value for money in Europe.”

Recently, Apollo Tyres has launched its commercial truck tyres in the North American commercial vehicle market, with tyres produced from its European and Indian plants. The roll-out of Apollo commercial vehicle tyres in the USA and Canada follows the introduction of a comprehensive passenger vehicle range.
