Audi specifies Vredestein summer tyres as standard equipment for the Audi A1 Sportback

Audi has selected Apollo Tyres’ latest Vredestein Ultrac and Sportrac summer tyres as original equipment (OE) for the Audi A1 Sportback, with factory fitment on selected models. Produced at Apollo Tyres’ facilities in Hungary, the tyres chosen by Audi will be supplied in two sizes, 15-inch for the Sportrac (185/65 R15 V) and 17-inch for the Ultrac (215/45 R17 W).

A growing number of car manufacturers are choosing Apollo Tyres’ premium range of Vredestein brand products as standard fit, strengthening the Netherlands-based tyre brand’s position within the European OE segment.

Audi and Apollo Tyres have collaborated on a tyre development programme with a focus on minimising rolling resistance. This has facilitated the selection of Vredestein tyres that optimise the Audi A1 Sportback’s efficiency and dynamic characteristics, and also supports Apollo Tyres’ ongoing research and development activities for OE fitment products.

Both the Ultrac and Sportrac summer tyres deliver superior driving dynamics in wet and dry conditions, as well as high standards of comfort and a quieter ride – all key priorities for the premium automaker. To support Audi A1 Sportback customers in the long term, both the Ultrac and Sportrac will also be available on the replacement market.

Benoit Rivallant, President and CEO at Apollo Tyres Europe, said: “The Audi A1 Sportback offers class-best standards of refinement, efficiency and handling, and specifying the Ultrac and Sportrac as OE fitment highlights the premium-quality dynamic characteristics of these tyres. We have worked hard to develop this latest relationship and build on our growing portfolio of manufacturer recommendations.”

Vredestein is a leading producer of premium-quality tyres, and for over 100 years has developed innovative products that deliver best-in-class standards of performance and safety, as well as a rewarding driving experience.
